Who and What is the Houston Coalition Against Human Trafficking?
CAHT is a collaboration of religious, community, consulate, federal, state, and local government agencies and organizations.
CAHT formed to work for an increase in community awareness regarding human trafficking and to coordinate the identification, assistance, and protection of victims.
CAHT Houston currently engages in:
-Advocacy and education regarding human trafficking
-Trainings for the general public and specialized trainings for legal professionals
-Mentorship for pro bono attorneys and other individuals who assist trafficking survivors
-Efforts to ensure the investigation and prosecution of human traffickers
-Development of a protocol for law enforcement and service providers regarding human trafficking cases
-Coordination of referrals for human trafficking victim services, including health care, counseling, and legal services
-Protection of victims through culturally and linguistically sensitive victim services
